Equine Somatic Coaching
What is Equine Somatic Coaching?
Equine is defined as 'of, or relating to a horse’. Somatic is defined as 'of, or relating to the body as a whole’.
In an equine somatic coaching session, dallas guides you in partnering with our horses to bring increased awareness to the whole of our experience. In this relational container, we are increasing our capacity to notice what arises in us in the moment, whether it’s an image, sensation, emotion, or something that caught our attention in our environment. We get familiar with what we respond to, and how that textures our presence. Horses are excellent models for this way of being, and ask us for reciprocity: to bring our own authentic presence to interspecies connection.
Somatics is a broad term that encompasses many kinds of embodiment practices and modalities. Some recognizable modalities are meditation, yoga, massage, and even dance. A felt outcome is woven throughout all kinds of somatic work, bringing more of an awareness to how we experience our whole selves in the present moment.
Current rates are $130 per 75 minute session.

About dallas
Hi and welcome, I’m glad you’re here! I’m dallas - I offer equine somatic coaching at Once Upon a Rescue. I found my way to this work through years of struggle reintegrating my own fragmented self. Through collaboration with many gifted healers and teachers, including horses and the natural world, I have found opportunities for wholeness that I wouldn’t have found alone. I am honored to be a part of your journey.
I have a coaching certification from Organic Intelligence, and have taken somatic-based courses from a variety of teachers. I have 10 years of experience working with horses, and have a lifelong commitment to growing my skills of horse stewardship.

I have lived and made a life on the homelands of the Multnomah, Cowlitz, Chinook and many other indigenous peoples of this place for over a decade. I grew up on the oak savannah homelands of the Chumash in southern California. My people came to Turtle Island primarily from Ireland, Wales, England and Scotland in the early-mid 1800s, migrating from the east coast to the west coast over time. Connection and relationship with land, lineage, elements, and animals are a north star in my days, alongside laughter and clowning with friends and family, swimming, snacking, spending time with horses, and sewing.
